Ikpa Udo is a Nigerian indigenous rapper from Akwa Ibom state, the talented artist who resides in Lagos has called out the government of Akwa Ibom state for not supporting the home based artists.
This one quickly came up after the latest development in Cross River State after the Governor, Prof Ben Ayade gifted one of their indigenous music artists cash support amounting to N10 million with car, the Akwa Ibom talented and finest rapper took to his social media page to air his disappointment in Akwa Ibom State Government for neglecting their own Entertainers.
The whole thing started when a Facebook user congratulated governor Ben Ayade and the artist “Jonny Kage” on his brand new car and 10 million naira. The user posted “1M for Jonny Kage and a brand new car, thank you Gov. Ayade”. This is when Utang Akwa Ibom commented “Lovely” and in the eyes of Ikpa Udo his comment wasn’t lovely, maybe he should have avoided the post.
The young rapper with bitterness in his heart who has seen how hard working Akwa Ibom artists are also used the opportunity to drag the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Utang Akwa Ibom for not ensuring that entertainers are well supported which was the sole purpose he was put at that office.
Maybe the government are using Covid-19 as an excuse for not supporting Artists, whereas in other states Artists are being respected and supported by the government.
Below is what he wrote:
“S.A to governor on entertainment for CROSS RIVER STATE don consistently deliver 10 million inside cally street back to back (Congrats once again to ma niggas wey collect) But guess what… S.A to governor in our very own AKWA IBOM STATE wey be my close man never deliver the least 1M from governmental funds give any indigenous act before but now him don rush go comment “LOVELY” Baba you no suppose comment at all “I tink say una no like better ting!
I’m not speaking as voice of the street or feeling entitled in anyway but no worry, the smallest assistance would’ve helped us go a long way globally Fvck all those “COVID EXCUSES” we no wan hear am again mbok (Utong edi mfna) I know a lot of creative, gifted & talented youths single handledly putting this land of fulfillment on mainstream map but una just refuse to support or empower dem meanwhile nsa ado mmódo bā enough. Greed na chaff vibe abeg. My happiness is that power will soon change hands & the fix will take place naturally. Big shoutouts to the present government k’usung CALABAR Gov.
BEN AYADE issa hero mehn… May God bless his good heart! Amen.”
