A total of twelve Nigerian athletes have been cleared by the Integrity unit of World Athletics to enable them to fully compete in the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

This comes after an initial ban of ten Nigerian athletes by the integrity unit due to their failure to meet the minimum testing requirements under Rule 15 of the Anti-Doping Rules for ‘Category A’ federations.

In the new development, twelve Nigerian athletes have been cleared and they include: Blessing Okagbare, Ese Brume, Tobi Amusan, Divine Oduduru, Nwokocha Grace, Patience Okon George, Enoch Adegoke, Imaobong Nse Uko, Itsekiri Usheoritee, Enekwechi Chuckwuebuka, Emmanuel Ojeli and Samson Nathaniel.

Reigning Nigerian sprint queen Blessing Okagbare, who is also a 100/200m record holder, tops the lists as she will be making her fourth appearance at the games, competing in the women’s 100m heat on Friday.
