The Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) has dedicated the recent male and female basketball teams’ win to the late Nigerian veteran artiste Sound Sultan.
NBBF has dedicated the recent male basketball teams’ win to the late Nigerian veteran artiste Sound Sultan, who died on the 11th of July 2021 after a long battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.
To honour the legendary sound sultan who also actively contributed his quota to basketball and even fashion, the NBBF dedicated D’Tigers’ recent friendly wins against the USA and Argentina to the late music star.
Making the announcement via their twitter page, the NBBF stated that Sound Sultan had predicted that Nigeria would become a superpower in basketball before he died. They wrote:
We dedicate the victories against US & Argentina to late Olanrewaju Fasasi (Sound Sultan). You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against USA, that was when you gave up the ghost.
The Naija Ninja front-liner had a lot of impact on the Nigerian industry, thus, his death is definitely a great loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
