Nigerian music Reggae Dance-Hall artist Patoranking has released his highly anticipated single, “Abobi.”
Patoranking’s debut record for the year, “Abobi,” is a descriptive song that talks about the story of a guy who got shot in the chaos.
The new single Abobi is a socio-politically conscious song that touches on police brutality in Nigeria. The song is being strategically released during the presidential elections happening in Nigeria from February 18th to tap into ongoing and arising conversations.
Just as the title suggests, the term “Abobi” is a popular slang coined in Port Harcourt, Nigeria; it literally means “guy” in a nutshell.
Finally, the Kel P-produced song “Abobi” demonstrates Patoranking’s storytelling versatility in a short, concise, and relatable story.
