Nigerian artists, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti have been nominated for the 64th Grammy Awards.
Superstar singer, Wizkid has just been nominated in two categories for the 64th Grammy Awards.
Alongside Tems, Wizkid’s global hit record, ‘Essence‘ was nominated for Best Global Music Performance while his August released ‘Made in Lagos Album Deluxe Edition‘ was nominated for Best Global Music Album.
With the double nomination totalling his career tally to four, Wizkid has also made history by becoming the most nominated Nigerian artist in the history of the Grammy awards.
Burna Boy, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti are the other Nigerians who also earned nominations. Burna Boy was nominated for the Best Global Music performance courtesy of his collaboration record “Do Yourself” with Angelique Kidjo while Femi and Made Kuti earned a nomination with their collaboration album Legacy+.
The award is presented by the Recording Academy in recognition of music achievements in the United States. The winners for this year’s award will be announced on the 31st of January 2022.
